Description
An Asian dessert served with soft tofu and sweet syrup.
Ingredients
Tau Foo Fah:
1-liter Soy Milk, check out my homemade Soy Milk recipe Here!
40g Gelatin Powder
3 Tablespoon Water
1 Teaspoon Cornstarch
Sugar Syrup:
50g Gula Merah
50 ml Water
1 Pandan Leaf, Knotted
2 Small Sliced Ginger(Optional)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, add the gelatine along with water and set aside for 15 minutes. Add the cornstarch and give it a quick stir.
2. Heat the soy milk and add the gelatin mixture. When it starts to simmer, turn off the heat and pour while straining it in a bowl.
3. Remove any bubbles at the surface and let it sit for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
4. In a pot, just add gula merah, water, pandan leaf, and sliced ginger, and heat it up till the sugar dissolves. Turn off the heat, let it rest for 5 minutes, and strain it.
5. Scoop the tau foo fah into a bowl and serve it with sugar syrup.
Notes
If your Tau Foo Fah is underset or overset, you can add more or reduce the amount of the gelatine from the original quantity. You can substitute gelatin with agar-agar powder.
