Description

Get ready to be blown away by the surprising taste of banana stem! Sis couldn’t believe how delicious it was, with a texture similar to Sengkuang (aka Jicama). And the best part? You can enjoy it raw in a refreshing salad! But why stop there? Take your taste buds on a wild ride by adding banana stem to your Fritters. Trust us, it’s the perfect snack for your tea break. Don’t miss out on this mouthwatering discovery!

Ingredients

Scale

260g Wheat Flour

1 Tablespoon Rice Flour

1 Tablespoon Chilli Powder

½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

1 Teaspoon Mushroom Seasoning/ Chicken Seasoning*Non-Vegetarian Option

1 Egg/ Just Add More Water For The Vegan Option

1 Big White Onion, Sliced

1 Medium-Sized Banana Stem

1 ½ Cups Shredded Carrot

1 ½ Cups Shredded Cabbage

½ Spring Onion Cut Lengthwise

1 Inch Ginger, Grated

1 Clove Garlic, Grated

1 Tablespoon Salt

1/4 Cup Cold Water

Instructions

  1. Slice the banana stem into strips. Remove the stringy fibers and thinly slice them. Put in the cold to avoid browning and strain it when using it.
  2. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl except for the cold water and egg.
  3. Add the egg and cold water. Make sure the water is added little by little, the batter shouldn’t be too water or too thick either. Mix all the ingredients well and set it aside.
  4. Scoop out the batter and drop it in a pan of hot oil to fry.
  5. Fry it until golden brown and serve it with Gila hot sauce. Get your Gila hot sauce here!
