KL’s coffee scene has been expanding these past few years, and I’ve got to say there’s alot of competition going on. But where can we get the best coffee in Klang Valley? Well I’ve listed down a few of my favourite cafes that call the shots. Check them out and let us know what you think!
1. FEEKA COFFEE ROASTERS, JALAN MESUI
Located just in the heart of KL, along the busy streets of Changkat, this small cafe hidden between the nooks and crannies of Changkat, Bukit Bintang is a go-to cafe for the coffee lovers of KL. Though, it may get pretty busy during lunch hour so it’s best to head there in the early morning or evenings to get a space!
Location : 19, Jalan Mesui, Bukit Bintang, 50200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Operating Hours : Monday-Sunday, 8am-11pm
Source : Feeka Coffee Roasters
2. VCR BANGSAR, JALAN TELAWI
VCR is a great place to go to when you’re meeting a bunch of friends for that Sunday brunch or if you just want to grab a cuppa. They serve a wide range of breakfast too, so it’s a perfect place to go to get your fix. VCR has 2 shops, one located along Jalan Telawi, and the other along Jalan Galloway. My personal favourite would have to be the one along Jalan Galloway, as it’s much more spacious and less crowded then the Bangsar outlet. Take your pick!
Location 1 : 2, Jalan Galloway, Bukit Bintang, 50150 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Location 2 : 31, Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru, 59100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Operating Hours : 8:30 am – 11pm & 7:30 am – 11pm
3. ARTISAN COFFEE HQ, PETALING JAYA
This now industrial but cozy building by Artisan Coffee HQ was once a warehouse that they converted into a cafe. Genius right? Located in the heart of PJ, Section 13, it’s a super spacious cafe with plenty of seating for you to choose from. Be ready to get a whiff of amazing coffee as soon as you step foot into the cafe! Artisan now has become my favourite go-to place to grab a cup of coffee or when I just want to chill. With the good music and great coffee, who wouldn’t come back? It gets pretty crowded during the weekends though, but I promise you, it’s worth the visit!
Location 1 : Jalan 13/2, Seksyen 13, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Location 2 : UG, Bangsar Village 2, 2 Jalan Telawi Satu, Bangsar Baru
Operating Hours : 8am – 12 am & 10am – 10pm
4. MERCHANT LANE, PETALING STREET
Everytime I walk into Merchant Lane, it feels like I’ve been thrown back into the 1970’s and 1980’s. With the rattan chairs and old school decorations with a touch of modern, it’s definitely what they call now, an ‘insta worthy’ cafe. It’s hidden in the streets of our very own Chinatown, Petaling Street. It’s a known go-to brunch place in KL and it’s usually always crowded. But you’re going to have to keep an eye out as it’s pretty hard to miss! Pair your breakfast with their good ol’ coffee to get your day started!
Location : 150, Jalan Petaling, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Operationg Hours : 11:30am -9:30pm & 9:30am – 9:30pm (On Weekends) Closed every Wednesday
5. KENNY HILLS BAKERS, BUKIT TUNKU
Now everybody knows about Kenny Hills Bakers right? An all time favourite to many. Located in Bukit Tunku of KL, Kenny Hills is a go-to cafe for brunch. Kenny Hills specializes in coffee, baked goods and their desserts. This little cafe can get pretty crowded though so make sure to go early to beat the morning crowd or go in the evening when it’s a little quieter.
Location : Lot I-1A, Taman Tunku, Bukit Tunku, 50480 Kuala Lumpur
Operating Hours : Monday – Sunday, 7:30am – 7pm
