TOP 3 Best Things To Do in Canggu, Bali, Indonesia
If Bali is going to be your next beach getaway I say, Canggu is a pretty cool spot to hang loose and do things. With so much to offer you, this little place in paradise offers visitors some seriously good food, lots to drink and a pool side hangout spot for you to check out.
First Stop, Breakfast!
I have found two places for you to check out for breakfast so it all depends on your preference on how you would like to start your day
Avacado FactoryÂ
Address:Â Canggu, North Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali 80351, Indonesia
Situated next to a quaint rice field, this warm and welcoming joint filled my tummy and heart with some seriously delicious creamy avocado delights with a side of healthy. If you are an avocado lover this is the place for you. They have everything from avocado smoothies to smashed avocado to avocado fritters to avocado pancakes! It opens early so head here early so you can have a hearty breakfast to kick start your day. Expect to pay about RM40 (USD10) per person.

Parachute
Address: Jl. Subak Sari 13, Berawa Bali, Indonesia
This place has a lovely bakery that serves some seriously delicious pastries and their cream filled doughnuts, are to die for! You all know how much I love doughnuts! They also have an awesome range of salads and in house spreads and dips besides their awesome breakfast menu. It opens at 6am so you could get here bright and early and sit in the deck area and enjoy the view of the garden and rice fields. They also have an edible garden that grows everything from pumpkins to herbs to local greens. A slightly pricer option (About RM50/USD15 per person) for food but if your looking for something worth it then this is the place for you.

Second Stop, Poolside Shindigs!
I couldn’t pick one pool side hang out place cause they are both super duper awesome so depending on your preference on the day here are my top two favs!
La Brisa
Address:Â Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan Gg. La Brisa Echo Beach, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Canggu
A dreamland for those who like that white washed pirates of the Caribbean feel with a splash of chic. This restaurant/ bar/ poolside/ beach side joint offers the perfect destination for you if you wish to have a nice cool off post breakfast and do some light tanning and drink lots of coconut water. If your keen to watch some surfers surf HUGE waves then this is the perfect spot for you. They also play some seriously  good music and if you hang here long enough, the sunset is so beautiful. Also, Get your hands on some PALETAS! It’s the best ice cream on a stick you will ever have. Best flavor Banana Nutella and Watermelon! they serve them here all day everyday!

The Lawn
Address:Â Jl. Pura Dalem, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia
A beautiful pool side, beach side restaurant and bar area with a lawn where you can lay and hang out. This is a seriously nice place to spend the day just lounging. You can opt to get a table on the lawn itself or in the restaurant. There is also a rooftop terrace but it only opens after 5pm. The food is so so but you are really here for the ambiance, music and awesome drinks. Expect to spend around about RM100 – RM150 (USD 20 – 30) per person but you get to hang here all day if you want to.

Late Lunch or Dinner
When it comes to good food in Bali I couldn’t pick so I narrowed it down to these two places and cause your so busy lounging Late lunch could also be early dinner 🙂Â
Moana
Possibly my favorite poke bowl place in the WORLD! Super fresh ingredients, seriously affordable food (about RM30 per person for a drink and a poke bowl) I had more tuna in my beautiful Maui Bowl than vegetables and rice. They have an array of different fish type dishes (raw, semi grilled or cooked) but if your going to have the freshest Tuna in your life please go for the poke bowls. You can choose from brown or red rice and black (kicap manis) or golden sauce (oyster sauce) – I prefer the latter just cause oyster sauce is LAIFE! and finish up your food with a sugar cane and jamu drink (sugar cane aka tebu, fresh ginger, fresh turmeric and local herbs) and my gosh the best meal ever. It was so delicious I came here twice in a row! Also you must enjoy the chilled coconut cheese cake (creamy cheese filling with a light toasted coconut taste on a biscuit crust and palm sugar drizzle and a side of vanilla ice cream) I died and went to Hawaii heaven in Canggu Bali!

Fat Mermaid
Address:Â Jl. Nelayan No.33, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
This is a brand new restaurant/bar situated in Canggu. I had the privilege of going here for their press launch and was really impressed by the food and drink. You must try their surf and turf, tuna nachos and panna cotta. Something about the high ceiling and the tropical vibes that get you grooving to the ambiance. It’s super accepting of all that is beautiful and fabulous that they even have 3 toilets to cater to all of gods creations and there is a sense of confidence to this place that allows you (whoever you are) to be whom ever you wanna be. I personally can relate to the majestic Fat Mermaid mural painting on the front of this building, its bold, curvy and beautiful. The menu is super cute because they name all of their drinks and food after ‘known’ mermaids/merman. Do come here to chill out and listen to good music as well as to enjoy the vibe. Put your phone down and stop with the picture taking and just enjoy being in Bali and in the Fat Mermaids presence because she is so on point.

There is just so much that Bali can offer you that you sometimes need to go out of your comfort zone and try new things. I hope this article on Canggu helps you enjoy a different side to Bali, the place we all wish to escape to, a paradise here on earth.
Much love,
Ili xx
