Scallop Potato Gratin


6 medium-sized potatoes (about 800g-1kg)
4 Tablespoons of Butter
2 Cloves of Garlic, Minced
A handful of Chopped Spring Onions or Leek
1 Teaspoon of Thyme
Salt to Taste
A Dash of Nutmeg
1/2 Teaspoon of Cracked Black Pepper
300ml of Cooking Cream mixed with 50ml of Milk
Add some chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce to your potato gratin when serving if you'd like a punch of spiciness to your meal!


1.Peel the potatoes and slice thinly and soak in some water
2.In a pan, melt the butter and saute the garlic and spring onion/leek to release the flavors with thyme. Set aside.
3.Drain the water from the potatoes, and drizzle over all the melted butter onto the sliced potatoes. Add salt and toss the mixture well to make sure all the butter, thyme and spring onions are evenly distributed. Set aside.
4.In the milk and cooking cream mixture, mix in a few shakes of salt and a pinch or two of nutmeg. Set aside.
5.Then in a oven-proof casserole dish, pile a layer of the potatoes . Shake a bit of cracked black pepper on it. Pour a bit of cream over it. and repeat until finished.
6.Bake the potato gratin in an oven at 170C for 60-70 minutes or until potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
7.Once baked, garnish with some chopped spring onions and serve immediately.


You have to admit, potatoes are the best thing to ever grace this planet! We especially love our Potato Gratin that we recently created. It’s super easy and fast. A definite crowd favorite weather it’s the kids or the adults! This can be served as a side dish along side roasted chicken and vegetables. It’s the best side dish you can make for any dinner party as everyone would love them! You could even opt to add meat to your potato gratin. Such as ham strips, or bacon. It’s up to you!
