Healthy Cauliflower Pizza

Ingredients - Pizza Crust

1 large head of cauliflower “riced” (blitz into fine pieces in food processor)
2 eggs
¼ teaspoon of salt
3 tablespoon of parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dry oregano
1 teaspoon dry basil
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 heap tablespoon of cornstarch
1 tablespoon of all purpose flour (to prevent “dough” from sticking to parchment paper)
So we all heard about substituting rice with cauliflower florets to make a healthier version of our Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice). Then, we wondered how to make Pizza healthy? Pizza is such a comfort food and you can't deny that it always makes you feel guilty after finishing the whole box by yourself. So to avoid that #GuiltyPleasure, we would like to share this healthy yet comforting Cauliflower Pizza recipe with you guys. Definitely a must-try!


1.Preheat oven to 190C
2.Rice the cauliflower in a food processor until fine. Then, bring a pot of water to boil and add in the riced cauliflower. Cook it for about 5 minutes, until softened . Then, take it out and drain it
3.In a pan, sautee the bell peppers and onions so that it wouldn’t require much cooking time in the oven. Once done, set aside
4.Then, using a clean dish towel, place the riced cauliflower on it and ring out as much excess water as possible. This is very important so that the crust will not turn out soggy
5.In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients to the pizza crust excluding the 1 tablespoon of all purpose flour. Stir the mixture until well combined and a ‘loose’ dough is formed
6.Line a baking sheet over a pizza stone /pan with parchment paper . Sprinkle over some all purpose flour onto the sheet
7.Then, using your hand, spread the dough onto the sheet into a circle or square. Make sure the crust isn’t too thick or too thin, about ½ inch thick with a slightly thicker outer perimeter
8.Bake the crust for about 45 minutes. Then, remove it from the oven and carefully flip the crust over onto the other side and continue to bake for another 10-12 minutes until it appears golden and the center is firm
9.Remove from the oven, and spread over all your pizza toppings on the crust. Make sure to go light on the pizza sauce to prevent a soggy crust. Continue baking in the oven for an additional 10 minutes or so until toppings are fully cooked and side of crust has become a golden colour
10.Once done, serve immediately while still hot and serve with options of Tobasco sauce or chilli flakes for a hint of spiciness

A healthy recipe doesn’t necessarily be difficult or complicated. It requires fresh and healthy ingredients that would be beneficial to your health. In this recipe, it’s just simply changing the ingredient to make the pizza crust into using cauliflower to make a huge different. Just enjoy and have fun in the process of making it.
