Braised Chicken with Lemon and Thyme

2 Whole Leg of Chicken
1 Fresh Lemon, sliced
4 Thyme Sprigs
1 teaspoon of Salt
1/2 teaspoon of Grounded Pepper
2 tablespoons of Butter
3-4 cloves of Garlic, crushed
2 teaspoons of olive oil
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
This Braised Chicken with Lemon & Thyme is the perfect meal to make for your family dinner. Best served with a side of roasted potatoes and salad.

1.Firstly, pat chicken with kitchen towel until dry and set aside in a bowl.
2.In the bowl, add to the chicken salt, pepper, and thyme sprigs
3.Mix well and make sure the chicken is evenly coated.
4.In a pan, heat up half the butter and olive oil. Olive oil will prevent the butter from burning and turning brown.
5.Now add in the chicken. Cook the chicken for 5 minutes on one side, then turnover once the skin is lightly browned. Cook the other side for another 5 minutes. Then add in some water and the juice of half a lemon
6.Let the chicken simmer in the gravy for an additional 5-8 minutes, until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Add more water if you would like more gravy. Season with a table spoon of honey and more of of the butter right at the end
7.Once cooked, remove from heat and serve on it's own or with a side of roasted potatoes and salad.

Whole Chicken Legs are ideal for braising since they cook quickly and are very tender.
