Banana Kale Smoothie

Ingredients

1 x banana
2-3 x dates (depending how sweet you like it)
5 x walnut
One bunch of Kale vegetables
1 cup - any choice of milk you prefer
A sprinkle of cinnamon
4 - 5 pieces of ice cubes
Avocado (optional)
I’d say the simplest and fastest way to get more fruits and vegetables daily is by making a smoothie or juice. Every now and then I make a delicious, filling and healthy green smoothie. The fun part part is when you get real creative with your fruit/veggie choices, colours and flavours. Bonus is that you don’t have to cook anything too! You can have this the morning when you’re rushing for work or as a pre and post workout drink if you like.

Instructions

1.Firstly, prep all your ingredients by chopping your banana’s into small coins, remove the pits from dates and roughly chop the kale so it’s easier to fit the blender
2.Next, put in your milk into the blender. My choice is soy milk, followed by ice
3.Throw in your sliced banana coins, walnuts, dates and kale into the blender
4.Add a dash into the mix and blend for 30 seconds. Or until there’s no chunks left
5.Pour into a glass and serve!

I think a lot of us feel a little guilty feeling like we’re not consuming enough fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. More often than not, we tend to dine out more or eat fast foods/junk food because our excuse is that we’re simply busy! I know that’s not an excuse and I try to eat healthy when I can. After all, eating healthier would do a lot of good. I don’t want stomach problems like indigestion or constipation, which I’m glad doesn’t come by often as I try to sneak in more fiber in my diet.
